Description & Services
Description Works in partnership with York Regional Police and the O.P.P. * provides 24 hour emotional support and practical assistance, information and referrals to persons victimized by crime or tragic circumstance * on-site early intervention and crisis intervention * safety planning * referrals to community services * provision of cellular telephones for eligible victims * system navigation for vulnerable victims * volunteer opportunities 
Victim Quick Response Program (VQRP) -- immediate assistance with emergency expenses related to the incident, including emergency home safety, accommodation, meals, transportation, dependent care costs, counselling, cellular phones, vision care, crime scene cleanup, and funeral expenses * no direct reimbursement to victims
