Volunteer Opportunities at the new Central LHIN Reactivation Care Centre

Partnering with other CLHIN hospitals, Mackenzie Health will be opening 30 alternative level care (ALC) beds at the new Reactivation Care Centre located at 2111 Finch Ave. W. in December 2017.This initiative is part of a strategy to reduce ALC beds in acute care hospitals and open up space for patients waiting in Emergency Departments.

Patients transferred to this new site will be receiving enhanced activation and recreation therapy. We are now looking for volunteers who are interested in volunteering specifically at this site. You will be a Mackenzie Health Volunteer with all its privileges and responsibilities. You will be reporting to Mackenzie Health staff and will be caring for Mackenzie Health patients.

Although specific volunteer opportunities have not yet been determined, we will require people interested in seniors’ health, recreation and reactivation therapy, able to push wheelchairs and perhaps speak a second language. We will have some volunteer leadership positions that will be excellent for Post-Secondary students in Kinesiology, Therapeutic Recreation, Gerontology or other related disciplines. This will be a great opportunity for anyone interested in obtaining a placement at the future Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital.

If you are interested in a volunteer opportunity at Mackenzie Health RCC, please submit an APPLICATION using our application portal
